When did you start writing books?

Started writing when I was a kid

This is a tough question to answer. I have been writing as long as I can remember. I have copies of books I wrote when I was in about grade 1 or grade 2 (age 6 or 7). These were published by my teacher and are complete with illustrations.

Throughout school, I continued writing. English was my best subject, however it wasn’t until I was in Year 11 that I started entering my stories in competitions. I was blown away when I won some!

In Year 12, I wrote a picture book called “Mikey’s Bedtime”, which I submitted to publishers. It was rejected numerous times, and I understand why now, though not then. Unfortunately life got in the way and I’ve only got back to writing books in the last few years. “Mikey’s Bedtime” is currently being editing and I’m hoping to start submitting it to editors again soon.

If you have a question you would like answered in this section, just ask.

(OK, so I couldn’t find a clip art image of a girl writing…)
