Hundreds of stories

May 19, 2024 | News

I often joke that I have hundreds of stories on the go. Most of them are stories I’ve written in writers’ groups, most since they went online in 2020.

This weekend, I’ve been sorting through stories that I’ve typed up. This is what I found:

  • 90 short stories
  • 47 book beginnings (most are a first chapter)
  • 42 snippets that I haven’t decided what to do with
  • 8 fractured fairy tales
  • 9 poems

This is only the ones that I’ve typed up. There are some notebooks full of stories that are yet to be typed up.

These are also only the ones that I’ve written during various writers groups. There are other novels I’ve started and short stories and other pieces that aren’t counted in the above.

When I say that I have hundreds of unfinished pieces of writing, I’m not joking.

One day, I’ll be able to get these finished and published. I need the headspace to make this happen, and the right supports. I’m working out what that will look like…

I have been enjoying revising my stories and there are some parts where I look at it and go ‘hey, I’m actually good at this’. So watch this space for some more books.
