How to Create A Dragon Workshop

Sep 29, 2017 | News

Yesterday, I ran a fantastic school holiday workshop at Monash Library in Mount Waverley called How to Create a Dragon. The topic came about from the launch of Lizzy’s Dragon. In that book, I created a dragon with a twist to fit the story, and to make it different from other dragons out there.

We had a packed house with around 20 primary school students gathered to get tips on creating their very own dragon.

To start the session, we discussed the things we know about dragons, and then moved on to talking about some of the things we can change to make our very own dragons. I then gave everyone paper and pencils so they could create their own dragons – either by drawing or writing. When everyone had finished, some of the kids shared their creations. One of my favourites was a dragon that breathed out blueberries!

Below are some of the dragons the kids created. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did.
