What I’ve Read – February 2021

Mar 1, 2021 | What I've Read

February is over and another nine books have been moved from my To Be Read shelf to my Read shelf.

Once again, most of the books have been picture books, including the debut books from some talented young authors.

The first of these was The Me You Don’t See by Sam Matthews. A fantastic book about life with autism. The second was Rona Stole my Fun! by Chandra A Clements & her daughter Tara, a book by a four-year-old about coronavirus.

A friend recommended I am Not Very Brave by Timothy Knapman, a lovely story about a dragon who is scared about starting school. Rainbows From Poppy by Mistie Dal Molin is a fantastic story about losing a grandparent.

You Can Be A Writer by Teena Raffa-Mulligan is a fantastic resource for young writers who are wanting some tips to get started in their own stories.

Bush Holiday by Leonie Norrington and You Turkeys! by Michael Gerard Bauer were quick reads that I picked up in a Big W promotion. They are quite different from each other, but were fun stories.

Tilly Milpepper and the Wishing Stone by JE Narracott is one that was a free download on Amazon that I really enjoyed and will appeal to kids who are wanting a fun adventure that features kids who love horses.

The last on the list, according to GoodReads, is A Most Unusual Pet, an anthology of stories by young writers that I edited.

I hope you had a bookish February, and I wish you all the best for March.
