What I’ve Read – February 2020

Mar 1, 2020 | What I've Read

Another month down and another 10 books added to my Read list! Plus a couple of books I started but haven’t finished yet.

I started reading The Last Voyage of Mrs Henry Parker by Joanna Nell and am about half way through it, as well as listening to The Land Girls by Victoria Purman on audiobook, one long drive and it will be done.

Most of the books I’ve read have been picture books. These include My Teacher Dad by Sonya Annita Song, which was a free ebook download, Each the Same and The World’s Worst Pirate by Michelle Worthington, Some Boys by Nelly Thomas, Tabitha and the Raincloud by Devon Sillett, and Mouse Sprouts: a tale of being different by Heather Anthony.

I love picture books and have been thoroughly enjoying the books I’ve been reading this year. Remember, picture books are for everyone, not just for little kids.

As well as picture books, I also read a couple of resource books for young writers. Princess Writing Prompts and Christmas Writing Prompts by WJ Scott were great and have given me some great ideas for the Young Writers Group.

I read one middle grade book, There’s No Place Like My Own Home by Florenza Lee is another free download ebook, and talks about homelessness from the perspective of a child who is living it.

I was able to listen to two audio books in my travels. The Independence of Miss Mary Bennet by Colleen McCullough is a follow on from Pride and Prejudice looking at what may have happened 20 years after the original story. I also enjoyed Toffle Towers: Fully Booked by Tim Harris. I had given this to my nephew and wanted to read it too!

That’s a summary of my February reading. I hope you had a month full of reading too.
