Worth Reading: Rainbow Street by R.W.R. McDonald and Kelly Canby

Aug 11, 2025 | Worth Reading

This weeks book worth reading is ‘Rainbow Street’ by R.W.R. McDonald and Kelly Canby.

It’s Grandma’s 90th birthday and everyone is gathering to celebrate with a street party.

This book is a wonderful celebration of diversity with families from different countries coming to show their favourite foods from their culture. There are also families in all different shapes and sizes coming to celebrate.

Along with the party for Grandma, this book shows how communities can come together celebrate occasions from different cultures (I especially enjoyed the white Persian cat at Holi).

This is a book that shows diversity and how it can live in harmony. A must have for schools and families to celebrate how our community truly is a rainbow one.
