What I’ve Read – October 2017

October has been a crazy month, beginning with my 40th birthday, and ending with my son back in hospital!

I have got a bit of reading done. The first book I read was Mollie Pride by Beverley S. Martin. This is a book I picked up years ago at a second hand book sale and have read before and always enjoy. There are so many twists and turns in this story it will keep everyone guessing. It’s a quick an easy read, something I needed this month.

I started reading Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterley, however I put it down somewhere and couldn’t find it! I have found it now, and look forward to finishing it.

My son’s pain doctor recommended I read How to Stop Chronic Pain in Children: a practical guide by Michael Dobe and Boris Zernikov. I read it in a night and got some great tips to help my son with his pain.

I started reading The Rejected Writers Book Club by Suzanne Kelman. This is one that has been on my Want to Read shelf on GoodReads for quite some time, and I bought it a little while ago. So far I’m enjoying it and all the quirky characters. I’m about half way through and I’m looking forward to following the road trip.

According to my GoodReads reading challenge, I’ve read 36 books for the year (37 if you count the pain book that isn’t listed on GoodReads), making me 3 books ahead of schedule to my goal of reading 40 books this year! Given there are still 2 months left for the year, I think I’ll easily make this goal.
