Shutdown continued during May, although we’re getting much more used to being at home unless we absolutely have to go out. Life is calmer and settling into some sort of routine.
I was able to finish listening to Cilka’s Journey on audiobook and started listening to Three Wishes by Liane Moriarty. I really enjoyed Cilka’s Journey. It was interesting hearing about some of the things that happened after WW2 ended, especially as my ex-husband’s family is from the USSR and his mother had told me stories about life there.
I also finished reading Born-again Blakfella by Jack Charles. It’s hard to fit 80 years of a life in 250 pages. I learned a lot about life for a member of the Stolen Generation.
The rest of my reading during May was picture books. Eddy’s Treasure by Michael and Robert New was fantastic. Michael New is a 7-year-old author. Bedtime Daddy by Sharon Giltrow and The Battle by Ashling Kwok are amazing new releases from EK Books. These are fantastic books that you should keep an eye out for.
How was your reading in May?
