What I’ve Read – June 2018

Jul 1, 2018 | What I've Read

The year is half over! I was so close to reaching the goal i set for the GoodReads challenge that I’ve increased my goal to 65 books. According to GoodReads, this means I’m 19 books ahead of schedule…

June has been a crazy month. We have decided to relocate, I started a new job, and we’ve got a new house! Most of my ‘reading’ has been listening to audio books during long drives. I haven’t had a lot of time or energy for reading many books. I have been reassured by members of my reading challenge group that audio books totally count.

The audio book marathon started with The No 2 Feline Detective Agency, a fun take on The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency. This was followed with Ladies of Letters Log on, and the complete Chronicles of Narnia series. I have also started listening to Boy by Roald Dahl and will finish it on Tuesday when I do my next long drive!

My kids used to listen to audio books while going to sleep each night, but it’s not something I’ve really got into, until recently. Listening to audio books has certainly helped a long drive seem a lot shorter.

I discovered an amazing new picture book during June – Cloud Conductor by Kellie Byrnes. I heard about this book through Books on Tour. It’s a great book for kids with chronic health conditions as it shows them they have something to offer too.

The last book I read during June is The Wish List by Jane Costello, a book I picked up in the library. This was an enjoyable book for a bit of an escape.
