What is the first job you had?

doll-200The first job I had was when I was 12. I started looking after a three year old girl who lived at the end of our street. I looked after her every Saturday afternoon and a few evenings for over a year. It was fun as I got paid for playing with a gorgeous little girl for a couple of hours.

I continued babysitting local kids throughout my teens. It was a great job, especially if it was babysitting in the evenings, as I could sit and do homework or watch TV and get paid for it!

Many of the antics of the kids I babysat have become inspiration for yet to be published stories. It’s funny now as many of the kids I babysat are now getting married and having kids of their own!
