Reflecting on my years at high school, I was very lucky to have some great English teachers who encouraged me to write a variety of different things from short stories to plays to opinion pieces. They also encouraged me to enter writing awards, a couple I won!

It was many years before I got back to fiction writing, however the love of words that these English teachers taught me and how they encouraged me stays with me today.
