To Be Read – what’s next?

Many booklovers talk about having a To Be Read pile. I have more of a To Be Read bookshelf!

I have so many books on my shelves that I haven’t read yet, but want to. After all, if I didn’t want to read them, I wouldn’t have bought them. The books are a mix of books I’ve bought, that have been gifted to me, or sent to me for review.

One thing I want to do this year is to make a dent in my To Be Read piles of books.

Looking at them as a whole is pretty overwhelming. To get me started, I picked a small pile. Here it is:

The books in this pile are:

  • Xavier in the Meantime by Kate Gordon – this is the follow on from Aster’s Good Right Things, an amazing middle grade book & I can’t wait to read this one
  • The Single Mum’s Book Club by Victoria Cook – a book I saw on Twitter. The fact that it’s about a book club and single mum’s appealed to me
  • So This is Love by Elizabeth Lim – a retelling of the Cinderella fairy tale that was recommended to me by someone in the book club I ran in 2021
  • Settle the Score by Nicki Edwards – book two in a trilogy. I enjoyed the first book last year and this is another one I’m looking forward to reading
  • Maternal Instinct by Rebecca Bowyer – I bought this one through her crowdfunding campaign. It’s a different genre than I usually read, so I’m looking forward to this
  • Diary of a Crap Housewife by Jessica Rowe – I don’t usually read books by celebrities, but there’s something about the title and blurb that got me to pick up this book when it was on sale in the bookshop ages ago

This is my first set of books. I am trying to work out which one to read first. Watch this space and I’ll update you on my progress.
