Not Running Away

Gemma Duncan isn’t running away — she’s finally running towards something.

A temporary job as an archivist in the seaside town of Sapphire Bay is meant to be a quiet break, nothing more. But between new friendships, community traditions, and an unexpected connection with Adam Cooper, Gemma begins to rediscover who she is beyond the roles she’s played for everyone else.

When the chance to return for good appears, Gemma must decide whether to go back to the life she knows… or choose the life that finally feels like home.

Not Running Away is a warm, uplifting novella about second chances, belonging, and the courage to choose yourself.

The Next Right Thing

Kathy Baker is used to being the one everyone relies on.

After years of juggling work, raising her teenage daughter, Abigail, on her own, and caring for her mother, Kathy is exhausted. So when her brothers leave her to prepare the family’s Sapphire Bay holiday house for sale, it’s simply one more job to add to an already overflowing list.

Then she meets Blake Warren.

The local handyman is easy to talk to, always ready for a cup of tea, and comes with two teenagers who quickly welcome Abigail into their lives. Before long, Kathy finds herself looking forward to her visits to Sapphire Bay—and wondering why returning to the city gets harder every time.

As friendships grow and the little weatherboard house begins to feel more like home, Kathy starts to imagine a different future. One with a happier daughter, a community around them, new possibilities for herself and, perhaps, room for Blake too.

After spending so long doing what needs to be done for everyone else, Kathy is finally beginning to ask what she wants for herself—and whether moving forward might be the right next step.
