Prompt #15 – Interview with a Bibliophile

The 15th writing prompt for the Author Blog Challenge is:

Find someone you know, either online or in the real world, who is a true bibliophile and interview them about their reading habits.

I was lucky enough to have Jenny Blake, aka AusJenny,   offer to answer questions for me.

How many books do you buy per month?

It depends on the month but on average 4 – 6

How many do you actually read?

Around  12 a month  an average of 3 a week.

What do you read?

I read Christian fiction, Historical, contemporary and some light suspense.  A lot of Love inspired books.

Where do you buy your books?

Some from the kindle at Amazon and some from bookstores such as Koorong.

Who is your favourite author?

Gilbert Morris

What do you like about the author?

I love the way he writes about history and makes it come alive. He has a lot of historical facts which are interesting and add to the stories.

How often do you attend signings/readings? What do you enjoy about them?

I haven’t attended any for fiction writers. Been to a couple signings for Cricketers. I loved getting the book autographed and getting my photo taken with them.

If you could ask you favourite author any question, what would it be?

In your research what have you found some interesting facts that surprised you?

Which book has most recently surprised or delighted you?

Beyond Resolution by Rose Dee. There were some things in the story I didn’t see coming.

Of everything you’ve read so far this year, what would you most recommend?

Saving Hope by Margaret Daley, it deals with a very relevant subject where the heroine is helping teens who have been caught up in prostitution due to either being kidnapped, groomed etc. The book also shows how easy it is for a teen to be groomed and gives the signs parents and teens can look out for.
