NaNoWriMo – giving it a go

Oct 26, 2011 | Blog

As well as my kids books, you may know that I have a novel (or two) inside my head.

The project/s at the front of my mind are to do with the Accidental WAHM stories, specifically the story with Clara or Sally.

I stumbled upon NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) via Facebook or a blog, can’t remember which, and thought it looks like a good idea. Basically, the idea is to write 50,000 words during the month, or 1,667 words a day!

Now, I work part time and have two kids, so I’m under no illusions this will be a HUGE challenge, but it will be fun. Over the course of the month I will have 2 child free weekends. I look forward to seeing how far I go.

The idea is for quantity rather than quality. Things can always be edited later. I am also planning to use the writing prompts in Ink Paper Pen to keep the story moving – mostly posting them on Accidental WAHM.

So, wish me luck. If you want to help out, go to www.accidentalwahm.com and follow the site on Facebook and/or Twitter and get involved.
