Launch: Raymund and the Fear Monster

Nov 16, 2019 | News

One of the things I love about what I do is attending the launch of new books. This afternoon, I had the great joy of attending the launch of Raymund and the Fear Monster by Megan Higginson and Ester De Boer.

I met Megan through Facebook groups a number of years ago, and she stayed with me during the first KidLit Vic conference. When we moved to Traralgon, I joined her writers group and became friends with Ester too. Over the last year or so, I’ve been watching the progress of the Raymund illustrations.

Planning for this launch has been months in the making. Decorations of Reader’s Emporium began earlier in the week, my son helped out climbing ladders and putting monkeys and vine leaves on high shelves.

Today was the day when Raymund was launched to the World.

Megan and Ester enlisted the help of family and friends, as well as the kids present, to do a dramatised reading of the book. This was followed with craft for the kids, afternoon tea, announcement of the Fear Monster competition winners, and book signing.

By the end of the day, everyone was tired and very, very happy, but it wouldn’t be complete without uploading photos to share.
