Happy Australia Day

Happy Australia Day

Happy Australia Day everyone.

It’s a public holiday here in Australia and there are a lot of free activities to do, there will be fireworks tonight, and my kids are looking forward to watching the ABC 3 Smackdown if we’re staying home.

Australia Day is a time to celebrate Australia, but it also marks the end of the Christmas holidays. School goes back this week, and it’s time to switch from holiday mode and get back to “real life”, so to speak.

Over the last few weeks, I haven’t done much blogging. I’ve been having a rest from writing, editing and blogging. It’s been needed as I’ve been able to clear my head after the crazy time before Christmas and I’m ready to go again. If you missed it, I wrote about this a couple of weeks ago on the Christian Writers Downunder blog.

I’ve been reading books, planning blog posts, dreaming dreams, and getting ready for a great 2015. There are a number of projects on the boil and I look forward to sharing more as they come a reality.

For today, I’m going to enjoy my last day of holidays. For those in Australia, how are you celebrating Australia Day?

Magic Lantern Story

Back in 2012, I participated in the first Chapter Book Challenge. This was one of the first writing challenges I did when I got back to writing fiction. The goal was simple, to write a draft of a novel for children in a month. I wrote a story where a kid named James...
