Booktober interview with Imani

Oct 26, 2019 | News

A few months ago, I heard of Imani Benfell, a young author who was raising money with her book, Mysteries of Maybelle. She was raising money for Emerge Australia, an organisation that raises awareness about ME/CFS, a condition my younger son has. Naturally, I purchased a copy of her book and followed her on Facebook.

I saw her talking about looking for authors who wrote about chronic illness and/or had one themselves. As I tick both boxes, naturally I put my hand up.

A few days ago, I had the great delight in being interviewed by Imani via Zoom as she’s in Western Australia and I’m in Victoria. The interview went live yesterday.

We spoke about books, writing, chronic illness and more.
