Back to Writers Group

Yesterday, I travelled to Melbourne for Young Writers group at the Mt Waverley library for the first time in ages! It was fantastic to drive down the highway and arrive at the library.

We had a small group and the kids were happy to be there at a face-to-face session. Virtual groups are fun, but the face-to-face sessions are even better, especially when we can have our favourite writing prompt – the chocolate writing prompt!

As the group was small, the kids each had four chocolates to work from. Fun stories were written, especially from the two young writers who had never attended a session before. Those who have done this prompt before were challenged to find something different to create their story.

As well as writing, there was quite a bit of chatting and catching up on news as it’s been a while since we’ve been together.

I’m looking forward to continuing the sessions this year and we’re all crossing our fingers that the face to face sessions will be able to keep going.
