What I’ve Read – April 2026

Apr 30, 2026 | What I've Read

How is it the end of April already? This year is flying by!

Somehow, April brought me to 41 books read for the year… a mix of audiobooks, picture books, and others. Here’s what I read:

  • Digging Up Trouble by Kitt Crow – an audiobook that has a fun cast of characters, though the dog is the star of the show.
  • The Lost Blanket by Christine Grayden – a picture book by a local author that I read while at an Art Show over the Easter weekend.
  • Hen’s Reunited by Lucy Diamond – an audiobook. I usually enjoy the stories by Lucy Diamond, this one was alright
  • Gnoming About: Tree Mail Adventure by Liv Lorkin – this one is a graphic novel, something completely different for me, and I loved it!
  • Elsa’s Stand by Cathryn Hein – this is the third in the Outback Brides series and a great addition to the series. I really enjoyed this book.
  • Things Will Calm Down Soon by Zoe Foster Blake – an audiobook that I have mixed feelings about. It’s about a single mum running a highly successful business. It has some great business tips if you’re at that stage of business
  • Invisible Jerry by Adam Wallace. I have been hearing about this book for years and picked it up in the library. A great story
  • The World’s Worst Pirate by Michelle Worthington – a picture book by one of my author friends. I have read this before and it’s still a great book
  • Holly’s Heart by Fiona McArther – an audiobook and book 4 in the Outback Brides series. It was only available as an audiobook and not in other formats. I really enjoyed this one
  • In The Margins by Gail Holmes – an audiobook and historical fiction based on a real person. This story was fascinating and I’m glad I picked it up

That’s the list. I did a lot of long drives during April, one reason there are so many audiobooks on the list. I have a few books on the go right now and will share those next month.

I hope you were able to get some reading done during April. What were your favourite books?
