Fiction can change lives…

May 17, 2024 | News

Did you know that fiction can change lives?

By seeing themselves in stories, a person can feel less alone.

By reading about situations they may find themselves in, a person can feel seen.

By reading about history, people can learn about the world around them.

By losing themselves in a story, they can find reprieve from things that may be causing stress.

It’s not only fiction that can change lives.

Sometimes it can feel safer sharing your story through fiction.

Sometimes it can be healing to rewrite events of life through fiction.

Sometimes more information can be shared when writing a story through fiction.

Stories can be life changing.

For me, there have been so many times when stories have been a lifeline. An escape from a world I don’t understand. A port in a storm, a refuge.

When I’ve been lonely, fictional characters have been my friends, whether reading books or writing stories.

Fiction is powerful, fiction is also underated.

Fiction can change lives.

Don’t underestimate the power of fiction.
