Reading Teapot Tales

Reading Teapot Tales

As I said last week, I was invited to read on of my stories from Teapot Tales to the Oakleigh Writers Club through Write Away With Me.

Well, today was the big day, and I was slightly nervous, though with a busy day of looking after a sick 9 year old and my day job, I didn’t have much time to worry about it. The biggest decision was which story I was going to read. Of the three of us in this family, we each have a different favourite, so I went with The Princess and the Pea, which is my favourite of the three stories I wrote.

The children were fantastic. They listened really well and asked a couple of great questions – including where the title of the book came from. They are a great bunch of kids and I’m looking forward to hearing some of the work they present at the end of term.

One thing that made this first book reading extra special is the fact that both my boys were there to share it with me. Mr N took photo’s and many were fuzzy, but the good ones I’ll put in this post.

A huge thank you goes to Beth and the Write Away With Me team for giving me this opportunity.
