What I’ve Read – September 2022

Oct 1, 2022 | What I've Read

It’s the start of October, my birthday month! I know people say that I shouldn’t mark my birthday as an adult… but I don’t care. I like marking my birthday.

During September, I didn’t complete as many books as I have lately, however I have made good progress on a couple of longer ones.

I enjoyed The Valuable Dragon by Ron Brooks. This was a free download that shows kids that they are more valuable than jewels.

For an audiobook, I was pleased to hear the fourth Magical Misfits book by Neil Patrick Harris. This is a fantastic middle grade series with diverse characters and a lot of magic.

Aussie STEM Stars: Eddie Woo by Rebecca Lim is a book I’ve been recommending to kids for a while, and finally got to read. I enjoyed this snapshot of Eddie Woo’s life and how he came to teach maths and change the lives of so many students.

One of my nephews had a birthday last week and I bought him a couple of books. School of Monsters: William is a Star by Sally Rippin is one of them and I’m sure that my nephew will love it.

The books I have on the go include The Nurses War by Victoria Purman, The Bravest Word by Kate Foster, and I’m listening to The Naughtiest Girl in the School by Enid Blyton, a book I enjoyed as a child.

This was my reading during September. How did you go?

My Own Favourite Books

This past weekend, ABC Radio National had a countdown of their Top 100 Books. There weren't many that I have read, or wanted to read, and those I had, I didn't love. I thought I would share some of the books that stood out to me since I started tracking the books I...
