Day 14 – Dressage

Aug 9, 2012 | Blog

It’s Day 14 of the Blogging Olympics, and today’s event is Dressage. Today’s challenge is to look at how to improve the reader experience and make content more shareable.

For this challenge, I’m going to look at my Accidental WAHM blog rather than this one. The main reason for this is simple – this blog is just my random musings and sharing my journey, Accidental WAHM is the blog I want to be more shareable.

The first thing I will be doing is give the blog a facelift.  The template that is there currently was fine when there was only one story, however now that it has expanded to include more stories, it doesn’t quite fit any more. I would like a template that better reflects what the blog is now about.

The second thing is to work out what the content will be. Will it be a series of stories related to each other, or just random short stories to do with the characters? This is something I’m currently researching.

The third thing is to add the business tips back in to the stories. The original idea was that each story would have business tips associated with them. When I started publishing them on the blog, I left these off (though they are still in the versions I have on my computer).  I’m hoping that these tips will attract people to read and share the posts, along with the stories of the WAHMs.

I’m open to suggestions to how to make Accidental WAHM a happening blog. If you have any ideas, please add a comment.
