What I’ve read – August 2020

Sep 1, 2020 | What I've Read

Still in lockdown. We are very used to staying at home, though I’m glad we’re not currently living in Melbourne. We are also about to move house.

Audiobooks have been keeping me sane while doing housework and packing boxes. There is still a lot of packing to do and the house looks a bit odd with empty bookshelves…

I really enjoyed listening to Murder on a Midsummer Night by Kerry Greenwood. It’s been too long since I read a Phryne Fisher mystery. I started listening to The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness. One of the members of my Year 12+ writing group recommended it to me. It was an interesting story.

As we’re in the process of packing ready to move, I have been going through my TBR pile of picture books to review so I can catch up on any outstanding reviews. I read Kenzie In Search of a Friend by Erica Smith, Ashleigh Webb, & Alicia Axnick, Go Away Foxy, Foxy by Karen Hendricks and Naomi Greaves, and A Stroll with Mr Gaudi by Pau Estrada, a book my parents brought back from their Europe trip last year.

My Nephew read Snug as a hug by Marcia K Vaughan & Pamela Lofts, and a young girl in a book club read Peek-a-Boo by Janet & Allen Ahlbert, one I loved when I was younger.

I’m looking forward to September. A new house, change of lockdown restrictions, and the days are getting warmer…

I hope you were able to get some reading done during August.
