Year 12+ Writers Group

Jul 14, 2020 | Programs, Writers Group

I have been running writers groups for young writers for about seven years now. The last few months, the group has been running online via Zoom.

Recently, I had a request from one of my regulars to start a group for students 18 and over, as she was about to turn 18. Even with the reassurance that she’s welcome in the group until she finishes year 12 this year, she didn’t want to stop writers group.

Tonight, we had our first Year 12+ Writers Group via Zoom. It consisted of one regular and two newbies and me. We wrote stories based on the first line of a book we had near us.

We had stories and poems. Time travel and aliens. It was so much fun we ended up going overtime by nearly half an hour!

I’m already looking forward to the session next week.

If you or someone you know are in year 12 or above and would like to join in on a Tuesday evening, you can book here.
