What I’ve Read – April 2019

May 1, 2019 | What I've Read

Continuing health issues have reduced my ability to read a lot, so I started some audio books.

The one I finished during April is The Last of the Bonegilla Girls by Victoria Purman. I picked this up because my dad and his family were in Bonegilla when they first came to Australia. It’s a fascinating snapshot of the changing Australian society over the decades between the 1950s and now.

I also read Great Barrier Reef Rescue by Karen Tyrrell. I’ll be reviewing it next week as part of a blog tour.

Most of the books I read were picture books. These include Evangeline’s Moon and Our Mum is Fun by Laura Hockley, Up to Something by Katrina McKelvey, Hokey Pokey by Ed Allen, and Peanut Money Up High by Nicole S Kelly.

It may seem strange to read so many picture books when my kids are teenagers, but picture books are amazing. They have great stories and strong messages for kids, as well as stunning illustrations. I love picture books!
