What I’ve Read – August 2018

Sep 1, 2018 | What I've Read

Billie B Brown and The Ella Diaries dominated August. I had to read them before passing them on to a friend who has a Little Free Library. Both of these series came out after my kids had grown past them and, having two boys, probably wouldn’t have been picked up by them.

Both these series were great stories, strong messages, and characters that children will relate to.

Before I get slammed about my boys not reading books with female characters, they did. They just preferred stories about Aussie Rules Football or ones that featured animals rather than humans.

I also read The Colour of Broken by Amelia Grace. This is as amazing story, full of strong characters and a powerful ending. It also looks at the impact of Meniere’s  Disease, not only on the person who has it, but also on their family. It’s a condition I didn’t know much about, and this book explained it really well.

While driving, I listened to two audio books – The Mill Girls of Albion Lane by Jenny Holmes and The Chocolate Lover’s Diet by Carole Matthews. Both of these were enjoyable to listen to and filled in the long drive.

What books did you read during August?
