What I’ve Read – November 2017

Dec 1, 2017 | What I've Read

November began with the excitement of my son walking out of hospital after being in a wheelchair for much of the year!

I finished reading The Rejected Writers Book Club. It was a fun read with a lot of quirky characters and twists and turns.

My son asked me to get him a new book, so I went a bit nuts in the book shop and bought Hitler’s Daughter by Jackie French to read. I was lucky enough to read it first. It was a fascinating story that gave a hint of an insight into life in Germany under Hitler. It also asked a lot of questions about what is evil and how much kids would know about what their parents are doing.

For fun, I read Tercules by Marcy Pusey, a picture book ebook that had been sitting on my iPad for a while. It was a gorgeous story.

Last night I finished reading We’ll Meet Again by Mary Higgins Clark. I always enjoy her stories and this one didn’t disappoint. I admit, I did stay up reading last night so that I could finish it in November!!

For my Good Reads challenge, I’ve completed 43 of 40 books! I might have to increase the number of books I read in the challenge next year.

Shiny New Story Syndrome

I have seen a lot of authors post about what they call a 'struggle with shiny new idea syndrome'. I don't struggle with it. I embrace it! Last year, I came to realise that that is how my brain works. I will be working on one idea, then my brain will go 'nope, not...
