Where Writers Get Ideas Workshop

Oct 5, 2017 | News

Another week, another amazing school holiday workshop. This time it was with my regular teen writing group. The group requested a workshop on where authors find ideas, and that’s what we did.

I prepared a list of nine different places authors get ideas. These were based on where I find my own ideas as well as discussions I’ve had with other authors.

Once we had done these, I invited the participants to share some of their ideas, and then gave them a writing prompt to kick start a project of their own.

We had a lot of fun, and there was much laughter in the room as participants came up with ideas based on the places authors get ideas that I had shared with them.

I’m sure the participants will go on to writing down their own ideas in the future. I look forward to seeing what they come up with.
