What genre do you write?

Genre is a mixed bag

Genre is a mixed bag

I’m not sure I can pick a single genre – much to the annoyance of my web designer when she was trying to design this site. My writing is a bit of a mixed bag.

I write a number of different things – from fractured fairy tales to picture books, from chapter books to novels (none of these are actually completed yet!), from business books to flash fiction. Oh, and I also have a number of blogs that I write.

As much as I try, my mind won’t settle to a single genre – or even a single audience. This makes writing fun but also challenging.

One advantage of writing a variety of different things is that if I get bored with one, I can work on another one. This can also be an issue as I have a lot of  different projects on the go and not all of them get finished.
